History and Philosophy’s annual banquet is a lively event with an enthusiastic following! It unites alumni, faculty, students and friends to reconnect with old acquaintances and strike up new connections and friendships. It is a celebration of student achievement and an entertaining and enlightening experience for all. Guests enjoy delicious appetizers, dinner and dessert as well as a cash bar. You need not be a history alum or student to join us – all are welcome!
Location – Riverview Ballrooms (C & D), University Center, UWRF
Keynote Speaker – Dr. Samuel Gale, Adjunct Instructor of History, UWRF
Topic – “Escaping Jack Johnson’s Shadow: Race & Sports in the 20th Century U.S.”
Menu – Dinner buffet: Pan seared chicken with Chardonnay sauce; salmon with lemon-caper sauce; wild rice pilaf; blistered fingerling potatoes; seasonal vegetable medley; roasted broccoli and cauliflower; mixed green salad with romaine, red onions, tomatoes, croutons. Served with rolls, fresh-brewed coffee, and iced water. Tiramisu for dessert.
Cost: $27.00 non-students ● $15.00 current UWRF students
No tickets will be issued. Guests will be checked in at the door. Students must present UWRF ID upon arrival.
Optional Contribution – Whether or not you are able to attend, if you would like to provide additional support for this event, you are welcome to select the gift amount(s) of your choice before finalizing your transaction. Past contributions have enabled us to keep the ticket price low for UWRF students, and we are grateful.
