The UWRF-University COMMUNITY Chorus is a non-auditioned mixed ensemble (SATB) open to any student, faculty, and staff member at UWRF as well as residents of communities in western Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota. Our goal is to create a community of vocal musicians of all ages and backgrounds through singing a wide variety of choral literature including world premiere commissions while improving vocal technique and music reading skills. Our singers range in age from 18-80 and come from across our region and around the world.
The University Community Chorus will meet MONDAY evenings in a HYBRID format for the Fall Term of 2021. Beginning Monday, September 13th, we will meet synchronously between 7:00-9:00 p.m. either in-person or online. As of August 15th, we plan to hold rehearsals Face-to-Face in the Choir Room of KFA. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be following public health protocols for gathering which include masking while singing and keeping social distance. As the trajectory of the pandemic changes, we may have to hold some sessions ONLINE using a ZOOM video conference platform. We will concertize in person if possible, OR make live recordings for posting, OR create virtual choir performances. Our goal is to build community and make choral music in the safest way possible for singers and audiences.
NOTE: UWRF students may sign up to sing with this Chorus. There is NO class credit given. The Fee is $50.00. Please register here at Marketplace. Students wishing college credit for singing should register on E-SIS for Concert Choir or Women's Chorus.
