Storytelling is the oldest form of teaching…one that is used in every human culture in the world. Yet we often forget the power of stories in the classroom. Stories make topics come alive and concepts easier to remember. Join master storyteller Dr. Michael Dorer as he shares stories that are at heart of the Montessori cosmic curriculum as well as curricular stories that enhance learning in all subject areas.
Michael’s book, Deep Well of Time: The Transformative Power of Storytelling in the Classroom was released last August with over 40 curricular and other stories matched to the Montessori curriculum that you can readily apply in your classroom. This book has already become a favorite resource of many Montessori teachers and teacher educators around the world.
Michael emphasizes that stories should have a prominent place in our classrooms as they “enhance and deepen the educational experience, and they enrich the culture of any classroom and any school.” In addition, he will share tips and strategies for creating and presenting your own stories.
